Clinical Pharmacology
Winstrol is the oral version of stanozolol and is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone, and exhibits mild anabolic effects while significantly increasing lean body mass and reducing overall body fat composition. Winstrol is moderately hepatotoxic and can produce a moderate increase in blood pressure at higher dosages. Winstrol does not aromatize and does not significantly alter endogenous testosterone production at low doses. Winstrol is indicated for hormone replacement therapy in males for conditions associated with deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone. Winstrol is also indicated for the treatment of primary hypogonadism (congenital or acquired), testicular failure due to cryptorchidism, bilateral torsion, orchitis, vanishing testis syndrome, or orchidectomy, hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (congenital or acquired), idiopathic gonadotropin or LHRH deficiency, or pituitary-hypothalamic injury from tumors, trauma, or radiation.
